Targeted Institutional Development & Renewal

1. Purpose

To serve as the BPP’s central hub for policy development, strategic planning, research, and political education; ensuring the party remains ideologically grounded, data-driven, and responsive to national and global trends.

2. Vision

To be a leading African policy institute that advances people-centered, inclusive, and transformative policies for Botswana and beyond.

3. Core Functions
  • Policy Research & Development: Craft alternative policies aligned with BPP’s values (equity, justice, Pan-Africanism).
  • Strategic Planning: Advise on party campaigns, manifestos, and governance strategies.
  • Political Education: Train party members, candidates, and youth on ideology, leadership, and governance.
  • Public Engagement: Host debates, publish papers, and influence national discourse.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation: Assess policy impact and guide course corrections.

1. Develop a BPP Policy Blueprint 2026–2030

2. Host 2 National Policy Dialogues annually

3. Publish 4 policy briefs & 2 position papers per year

4. Train 100+ party cadres in governance and leadership

5. Influence 3 national policies through advocacy & partnerships

–     Local universities (UB, BIUST, BUAN,Boitekanelo College, Botho, BAC, GUC, etc)

International progressive foundations (e.g., Friedrich Ebert Stiftung)
